 इतिहास में 28 अप्रैल आज के दिन यानि 28 अप्रैल 1711 को बादशाह बहादुर शाह के पास खबर पहुंची कि बंदा सिंह बहादुर की फौज में 5000 मुस्लिम पठाण भर्ती होने को तैयार हो गए हैं। बादशाह बहादुर शाह के पास पहुंची खुफिया रिपोर्टों के मुताबिक बंदा सिंह ने मुसलमानों को वचन दिया है कि उनकी हर तरह से रक्षा की जाएगी। उनको खुतबा और नमाज की इजाजत दी गई है। ऐसा होने से मुस्लमान सैनिक बाग़ियों की फौजों में सुकून महसूस कर रहे हैं। जैसे इतिहास में दर्शाया जाता रहा है, अगर बंदा सिंह बहादुर ज़ालिम होते और सिर्फ मजहब के आधार पर ही मुसलमानों से नफरत कर रहे होते तो मुस्लमान उनकी फौज में शामिल होने की भूल कभी नहीं करते। आज ही के दिन यानी 28 अप्रैल 1740 को मराठा शासक पेशवा बाजीराव प्रथम और उनकी दूसरी पत्नी मस्तानी का निधन हुआ था। 28 अप्रैल को जब बाजीराव अपने खरगांव की जमीन का निरीक्षण कर रहे थे तब बुखार की वजह से उनकी मृत्यु हो गई। जहां नर्मदा नदी के किनारे रावेर खेड में बाजीराव के शरीर को अग्नि दी गयी। इसके कुछ समय बाद ही पुणे के समीप पबल गांव में मस्तानी की मृत्यु हो गयी। कथाओं के अनुसार, बाजीराव की मृत्यु की ...

  प्रकाश सिंह बादल का जन्म 8 दिसंबर 1927 को मलोट के पास अबुल खुराना में हुआ था। वे एक जाट सिख परिवार से थे। बादल ने अपनी शुरुआत राजनीतिक करियर की 1947 में की थी। पंजाब की राजनीति में आने से पहले, वे गांव बादल के सरपंच थे और बाद में ब्लॉक समिति के अध्यक्ष बने। बादल 1957 में पंजाब विधान सभा के लिए चुने गए और पंजाब सरकार में कैबिनेट मंत्री के रूप में कार्य किया।  1967 में उन्हें भारतीय संसद के निचले सदन लोकसभा के लिए चुना गया और भारत सरकार में केंद्रीय कृषि मंत्री के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया।  उन्होंने 1971 तक इस भूमिका में काम किया जब वे राज्य की राजनीति में लौट आए।  बादल ने 1970-71 के अपने पहले कार्यकाल के साथ पांच बार पंजाब के मुख्यमंत्री के रूप में कार्य किया, इसके बाद 1997 से 2017 तक लगातार चार बार। वह पंजाब के इतिहास में सबसे लंबे समय तक सेवा करने वाले मुख्यमंत्री हैं।  अपने कार्यकाल के दौरान, बादल ने राज्य में कृषि विकास और औद्योगिक विकास को बढ़ावा देने के उद्देश्य से कई नीतियों को लागू किया।  उन्होंने किसानों, मजदूरों और समाज के अन्य वंचित वर्गों के ल...

 इतिहास में 25 अप्रैल आज के दिन यानी 25 अप्रैल 1948 को बाबा साहेब डा: भीमराव अंबेडकर जी ने उत्तर प्रदेश का दौरा किया था और कांग्रेस की सरकार में मंत्री रहते हुए भी उन्होंने अपने भाषण में कहा, "कांग्रेस एक जलता हुआ घर है। जो भी इसमें जाएगा वो राख हो जाएगा।" बाबा साहेब की बात पूरी तरह से दरुस्त साबित होती है। अनेकों लोग अपनी मूवमेंट को बीच में ही छोड़ कर कांग्रेस में गए और राख हो गए। उनमें से भले ही कोई विधायक या सांसद बन गया हो लेकिन आज उनका नाम लेने को भी कोई तैयार नहीं है। Darshan Singh Bajwa (Editor Ambedkri Deep Magazine )

 इतिहास में 21 अप्रैल आज के दिन यानी 21 अप्रैल 1853 को सिख पंथ के महान विद्वान ज्ञानी दित्त सिंह का जन्म हुआ था। जुलाहा जाती में पैदा हुए ज्ञानी जी ने सिख धर्म को निगल रहे आर्य समाज के मुखिया स्वामी दयानंद सरस्वती को बहस में तीन बार हराकर अपनी विद्वता का लोहा मनवाया था। ज्ञानी जी पंजाबी के पहले प्रोफेसर थे। उन्हें पंजाबी पत्रकारिता के पितामह भी कहा जा सकता है। उन्होंने 52 वर्ष की उम्र तक 72 पुस्तकें लिखीं। जब महाराजा रणजीत सिंह जिंदा थे तब तक सिखों की आबादी एक करोड़ से ज्यादा थी लेकिन उनकी मौत (1839) के बाद से यह संख्या कम होती गई और 1881 की जनगणना के अनुसार 18 लाख रह गई। ब्रितानिया के अखबारों में लिखा जाने लगा था कि कुछ सालों तक सिखों को दर्शन सिर्फ़ अजायबघर में रखी तस्वीरों से ही होंगे। ज्ञानी जी ने अपने साथियों के साथ मिलकर सिख धर्म को बचाने के लिए कार्य शुरू किया। इन प्रयासों का ही नतीजा था कि ज्ञानी जी की मौत तक सिखों की आबादी फिर से एक करोड़ तक पहुंच गई थी। ऐसे सिख विद्वान को पंथ रत्न का खिताब मिलना चाहिए था लेकिन जातीवादी सिखों ने उन्हें मान सम्मान नहीं दिया। आज के दिन यानी 21 ...
